Stunning scenic outlook being so up high, from all angles and so much history to absorb. Highly recommend! We loved it and are so glad we came to stay and experience the beautiful hillside town of Mertola in South Portugal."

"If you happen to be passing through then it is a worth a wander round the castle. As the views are good, looking in both directions along the Guadiana river and the town. Although it's not as spectacular as the castle at Beja."
