Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Museu do Vidro Marinha Grande fascinating, particularly appreciating the live glass-making demonstrations and the beautiful collections. While some signage is only in Portuguese, English guides are available, and the artisans are friendly. It's considered a worthwhile stop for its unique insight into glass craftsmanship.

"Really fascinating. We were given a guide in English on a tablet. There are glass making demonstrations in a small artisan's workshop."

Megan Vickery

"I thought it was pretty interesting. Normally €1.50, it was free for tourists in the day we visited. Some signs in the second and third floor were in English, but the bottom floor is totally Portuguese for some reason. There is the little workshop adjacent where two old men do some small examples of their craft and have items for sale as well. Visiting here is free. Despite not speaking each other's language they were very pleasant in showing their trade via hand signals. I think it was definitely worth the stop."

Karl Leibensperger

"A very interesting museum of glass manufacturing history. Beautiful pieces exposed, very insightful presentations. The live workshop where you can see how the glass is made and decorated is a very nice experience."
