Reviews Summary
Martim Moniz Square is a vital transport hub and the starting point for the iconic Tram 28, offering convenience for exploring Lisbon. While its multicultural atmosphere is vibrant, some travelers express concerns about safety, particularly at night, advising caution and awareness of surroundings.
"Filled with drug addicts, drug dealers, and homeless bums that like to stop and camp out for a few hours. And filled with trash underneath the trees. Strongly discouraged to visit, not only because of the aesthetics but also because of safety…."
Karen White
"Big square of not much of anything lol
Barely any shade in the day because the trees are just bush size. And lots of homeless folks camp out over the night, so the safety is a concern (i did have one follow me around the square).
Urine odor adds more to the already existing stench :("

"Trollies for tourists is one of the biggest scams and waste of time and money. Don't do it, don't buy a pass online from the government transit website, the trolley won't accept it and will blame you. If there is any line for the trolley 28 or 12,not worth it all. The scammy tuk tuks are a better deal. In all my trips to Europe this was the biggest waste of time and money. Shame on Portugal for taking advantage of their bread and butter with this piece of crap tour."
