From Praia Das Maças to Sintra 11:20 to 15:45 approximately every 10 minutes."

"On Fridays only until 4pm the train from Sintra to Paria das macas will go not 5pm. Amazing experience, clean energy, very fare price, absolutely worth the try. I personally couldn't get enough of the views and the road. In certain points because everyone was going the same direction by cars, it was passing such a long traffic since it has its own track.
Loved it.
Ask me questions if you have."

Exploring the beaches like Praia das Maçãs or enjoying the views from Azenhas do Mar can be done without significant expense. If the tram's schedule doesn't align with your plans or if you're looking for more flexibility, local buses or walking between certain points can be cost-effective alternatives.

The Historic Elétrico de Sintra
This tram is more than just a mode of transport; it's a living piece of history. Operating with its original charm, it provides a tangible connection to Sintra's past. The journey is approximately 45 minutes long, making it a leisurely way to travel between the historic town and the seaside. While it offers a unique experience, it's important to note that its infrequent schedule and the need for cash payment are key considerations for visitors.
Travelers often describe the ride as an 'amazing experience' with 'very fare price,' highlighting the scenic views and the distinctiveness of the journey. However, some find it 'underwhelming' due to its cost for families and the noise it generates. Despite mixed reviews, the Sintra Tram remains a popular attraction for those seeking a vintage travel experience and a different perspective of the Sintra region.
Navigating the Sintra Coastline
Beyond Praia das Maçãs, the region around Sintra boasts other natural attractions. For instance, Azenhas do Mar is a picturesque village perched on cliffs, often referred to as the 'Portuguese Santorini,' offering breathtaking views and seafood dining. Further afield, Praia da Adraga is a more secluded beach known for its dramatic rock formations and wild beauty, accessible by car or a combination of public transport and walking. For those seeking even more remote beauty, the Santuário da Peninha offers panoramic views from a hilltop sanctuary, though it's primarily accessible by car.
When planning your coastal exploration, consider how the tram fits into your itinerary. While the tram provides a charming link to Praia das Maçãs, reaching other spots like Azenhas do Mar or Praia da Adraga might require separate transport arrangements, such as buses or ride-sharing services. The Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais encompasses these diverse landscapes, offering a rich tapestry of natural beauty for visitors to discover.
