Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Casa Ermelinda Freitas Winery for its exceptional wine quality, outstanding value for money, and the warm, informative hospitality of its staff, particularly guides like Inês. The modern facilities and rich family history contribute to a highly recommended and memorable experience, though some may find the location requires dedicated travel.
"We discovered wines from this winery back in the UK, and as we enjoyed every wine we tried, we decided to drive to the winery during our Portugal trip. Although we could not do a tour, we got a tasting and a board with cheese a d chorizo. They were very welcoming and accommodating, and we really enjoyed seeing the place and the beautiful shop."

"We had a guided tour through Casa Ermelinda Freitas Winery with Ines, who must not worry about her English at all.
She explained the family's history, the wine making process as well the wine tasting very good. We had an entertaining and interesting tour, without a walk in the vinyard because it was all rainy.
We enjoyed Ines' presentation of CEF wines, especially the Rosé, which was incredibly tasty and the add on with the typical local cheese & sausage -everything was extraordinary.
Huge thanks to Ines! :)
We were impressed by the cleanliness and the state of the production halls, very professionell and neat as well as the showroom.
We apologize for the fellow German tourists who did not appreciate the tour at all. We felt embarrased by them.
We can highly recommend this tour!"

"My partner and I enjoyed a lovely wine tour and tasting at Casa Ermelinda Freitas. Our host - Inês - was incredible and was able to explain things in fluent English in a way that's appropriate to wine aficionados or the merely curious.
The wine tasting was great and amazing value for money. This is a place off the beaten track and away from both the locations of Arrábida and Alentejo that tend to be very popular for their wine tourism; I suspect this is likely to change, given the quantity of reviews this place receiving.
The ability to provide different kinds of wine tasting experience was also a major plus. We booked the single varietal wine tasting and they selected wines with grapes and profiles we'd never tasted before or even heard of.
We came back with a case full of wine and memories of a really good afternoon. Highly recommend both Casa Ermelinda Freitas, their wines and the tours."
