Reviews Summary

Visitors praise EC1 for its engaging interactive science exhibits and the fascinating historical context of the former power plant. The modern planetarium is a significant highlight, offering immersive shows. However, some reviews note that certain interactive exhibits are dated or in disrepair, and the reliance on reading text from screens can detract from the experience for some.

"The place is pretty cool, the history of the power plant and the related exhibits were quite interesting although I wish there was less reliance on reading a lot of text from screens. Maybe a simple button with audio description by each exhibit would be a much better experience.

The interactive sciences section was quite fun, although many of the interactive exhibits are a bit dated and out of service or blatantly damaged. I think the place needs a refresh in that area.

There was a cool exhibition about microbiology, interesting stuff but once again, way too many posters, too little audio description.

If I wanted to spend my afternoon reading science factoids I'd buy an encyclopedia, when I'm physically in a place I don't want to spend most of my time starring at a screen."

Igor Flakiewicz

"The place is attractive either to walk around outdoor (free) or experience the tour inside the facility (paid). Anyway the impressive machinery is all around here. Cool place to the tech lovers."

Yuriy Polyashko

"Fantastic science and technology centre, much quieter than Copernicus Centre in Warsaw and with the best and the most modern Planetarium on the site, not even mentioning smaller Spheric Cinema inside EC1. There are 3 floors packed with attractions and technology/scientific hands-on exhibits. Every time we visit we discover new spaces (for instance laboratories) and new temporary exhibitions. When you are there try to explore all side corridorrs/rooms as they lead to more parts of this interactive centre - for instance remember on the 3rd floor turn not only into the more visible exhibition about energy on the right, but explore corridor on the left leading to the waves room. Also next to the (currently closed) cafe, there are doors leading to another circular exhibition space. Young kids (and older ones :-)) would love signal room - on the mezzanine floor. Separate entrance leads to The Elements Street - play space for younger kids. The museum is disabled friendly: plenty of accesible toilets, ramps, lifts, Braille notices. Descriptions of exhibits/experiments available also in English. Currently there is great exhibition available: "The Mysteries of Pollens". Check website for special events."
