What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Rotating Footbridge as a unique engineering marvel and a symbol of Ustka, especially beautiful at sunset. However, many find the limited 20-minute hourly pedestrian access frustrating, leading to long waits and questioning its practicality when ships aren't actively passing.
"We crossed the bridge only to be stuck on the other end, as only when trying to return 20 mins later we noticed the signs that it’s only open for pedestrians once every hour and is otherwise rotated 90 degrees for ships to pass. But during waiting there forever we haven’t seen a single ship passing, only hundreds of people waiting to cross. So I’m not sure why anyone would build a bridge if they don’t plan on letting people use it accordingly. Apart from that it’s a cool engineering feat, nice to watch with kids as they open and close it. But fails to work for what it’s supposed to be."

"The revolving footbridge in Ustka connects the eastern and western parts of the city, separated by the mouth of the Słupia River. This several-ton drawbridge linked the two shores of the port, improving communication within the city.
The opening of the passage takes about 5 minutes and occurs every full hour at 20 minutes past the hour. The pedestrian bridge quickly became a part of Ustka's port panorama, becoming a symbol of Ustka and one of its tourist attractions.
The Ustka footbridge is the only structure of its kind in Poland and Europe."

"A modern but already managed to become a symbol of the city object. Especially beautiful at sunset. You just have to keep in mind that the pedestrian bridge opens only 20 minutes per hour. I recommend seeing it."
