It's described as one of Poland's most beautiful and atmospheric places, perfect for leisurely strolls and enjoying local cafes. Some find the cobblestone streets challenging for mobility.

"The Old Town Market Square in Toruń is the heart of the city’s district and a must-visit attraction. It is surrounded by stunning Gothic architecture and charming buildings. There are numerous caffe shops and restaurants, it’s the perfect spot to relax and chill."

Mateusz Rys

"The Old Town Square in Toruń is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric places in Poland. It is the heart of Toruń's Old Town, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is surrounded by impressive tenement houses, many of them with richly decorated facades that transport visitors to the Middle Ages.

The most important point of the Market Square is the Old Town Hall, a majestic Gothic building that once served as the city's administrative and commercial center. Today, it houses the District Museum, where you can admire rich collections of art and history. Right in front of the town hall stands a statue of Nicolaus Copernicus, one of the most famous residents of Toruń.

The atmosphere of the Old Town Square is extremely pleasant - it is an ideal place for a walk, a rest in one of the many cafes or restaurants, or simply to admire the architecture. During the summer and holiday season, the market is full of life, with concerts, fairs and other cultural events organized here.

This place delights with its harmony, history and unique atmosphere, being a must-see on every visit to Toruń."

Łukasz Kącki

"The central point of the Old Town, the main square of Toruń with dimensions of 109 x 104 m. In its center is the building of the Old Town Hall.

The Old Town Market Square was laid out in 1251, when a decision was made to expand Toruń to the north-west[2]. Initially, the main point of the city was the square, currently occupied by the cathedral church (formerly the Old Town parish church).

In the interwar period, mainly merchants lived near the Old Town Market Square, until around 1932, officials began to dominate the residents of the Market Square. At the initiative of merchants, a tram line running through the Market Square was built in the interwar period.

The Old Town Market Square was also a place of executions or punishments administered at the pillory located on the square. In the most representative point of the market square – in its western frontage (also called the tournament square), all kinds of special events were held. As befits the main point of the city, for some time the Old Town Market Square was the communication heart of Toruń, a “nodal point”, a stopping place for horse-drawn omnibuses, a fork in the tram lines, and later – in the early 20th century – the first taxi stand.
Like most polish downtown very beautiful and unique."
