"Extremely beautiful and enigmatic place. Sulejów is set on the banks of the peaceful Pilica river and towers above untouched forests that stretch for miles around the monastery.
Although we stopped very briefly, it was enough to be enchanted by the beautiful grounds of this tranquil 12th century monastery. The church, built from weathered stone, is located in the center of the abbey courtyard. It has some very interesting artwork from medieval times and houses a gorgeous portrait of Mother Mary that has been attributed to many miracles.
Sulejów is fascinating because it has been left relatively untouched since old times. There's a hotel and nice restaurant on the grounds, which makes it a perfect place for relaxing.
