What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Southern Bathhouses receive mixed reviews, with many praising the highly skilled massage therapists and the relaxing sauna facilities. However, some visitors find the pools not warm enough and note that the spa's basement location lacks natural light. The spa etiquette regarding towels in saunas is a point of contention for some, while others appreciate it as a cultural norm.
"I have been to this spa several times since 2019 on my visits to Sopot, and each time the experience has been high quality. The deep tissue massage provides you with practitioners who know the body and are able to read your physiology and target areas of concern. Without prompting, they find what needs to be addressed.
The saunas are great here. For travellers from North America, be mindful that they have different customs when it comes to clothing in saunas. You are expected to wear a towel for decency and not to wear your bathing suit. This is because of the evaporation of water from your bathing suit into the hot air of the sauna. Some don't like this, but get over it. You're in another country with different customs. Do your homework.
Laura the receptionist was very helpful. Patrick the qualified deep tissue practitioner was great. As was (forgive my spelling) Agelish."

"Unfortunately not too good. Located in the basement without any windows. There is one large pool and one smaller round bubble-pool. Non of them are really warm. Then there are a few saunas.
Good to be a part of the hotel if you stay there and get in included, but not impressive if you go here separately in my opinion."

"I got an excellent massage from Ewa. She was absolutely talented, and I am a picky guest. I would recommend her highly because she can "read" a body and knows exactly what technique helps loosen up the stiffest of muscles. This was a highlight of my trip to Poland, not just Sopot. I applaud this therapist!"

The Art of the Polish Sauna
While the saunas are a highlight, some guests have noted that the indoor pools might not be as warm as expected. However, the overall experience of unwinding in the sauna environment, followed by refreshing showers, is a significant draw for many. Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water before, during, and after your sauna session to maximize the benefits.
For those seeking targeted relaxation, the spa's massage services are exceptional. Therapists like Ewa and Patrick are frequently praised for their ability to address muscle stiffness and provide a truly therapeutic experience, making it a standout part of a trip to Sopot.
Spa Treatments: Beyond the Saunas
Beyond massages, the spa offers a range of other treatments and facilities. While the saunas are a core offering, the presence of various showers and the indoor pool contribute to a comprehensive wellness experience. It's worth noting that the spa is part of a hotel, and while accessible to the public, the value proposition might be different for hotel guests versus day visitors, especially considering potential parking costs.
