What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the AmberSky Ferris Wheel to be a pleasant experience, offering stunning panoramic views of Gdańsk, especially during sunset. The air-conditioned cabins and the 15-minute ride with multiple rotations are appreciated. Some note that the cabins are smaller than expected and the price is a bit high for the duration.
"We visited in the evening when it was almost empty, so we didn't wait a minute to be seated. It cost us around 10€ per ticket. We enjoyed the view for maybe 25 minutes. You can see a very nice sunset from there."

"I was skeptical about this experience since I’m not the biggest fan of Ferris wheels. But it looked very good and my kid was curious as it was his first time in such a thing. I have to say - it was worth it! Good quality of everything, it is not cheap wheel you might think of. Views are great even if this doesn’t look like the biggest wheel compared to other I had a chance to ride around the world. We had 4 rounds so it was nice. Be aware that cabins are small - this is not London Eye. Some might feel uncomfortable especially when cabins swings. You start to feel small on top of that. Very nice experience. Worth trying."

"Fine overview of the city for what is in my opinion an absolute scam price. The lady at the ticket booth was a little rude. The ride is 3 full circles and takes about 15 minutes, so if you have some extra cash and a little bit of time to spare, go for it"

Experiencing AmberSky: What to Expect
Travelers often highlight the stunning panoramic views as the main draw. From the top, you can clearly see the historic Old Town, the iconic cranes of the shipyard, and the picturesque Motława River. Many visitors recommend timing their visit for sunset, as the changing light creates a magical atmosphere, and the subsequent illumination of the city offers a different, equally captivating perspective. While the cabins are cozy, some reviewers note they can feel small, especially if you're accustomed to larger Ferris wheels like the London Eye. This snugness is part of its charm for some, but those who are claustrophobic might want to consider this.
Despite its moderate size, the AmberSky is considered a worthwhile experience, offering good value for the price, which is typically around 10-15 EUR. The lack of long queues, especially on weekday evenings, further adds to the positive experience. It's a great way to get your bearings in the city and appreciate its unique maritime and historical landscape from a bird's-eye view.
Photography Tips for AmberSky
When shooting from inside the cabin, be mindful of reflections on the glass. Try to position your camera as close to the glass as possible and shoot at an angle to minimize them. Using a polarizing filter can also help cut down on reflections. Since space is limited, handheld photography is your best bet; tripods are generally not practical or permitted. Focus on capturing wide-angle shots to encompass the expansive views of the Old Town, the river, and the industrial charm of the shipyards.
Don't forget to capture the city lights at night. Once darkness falls, Gdańsk transforms into a sparkling panorama. The illuminated buildings of the Old Town and the lights along the river create a magical scene. Experiment with longer exposure times if your camera or phone allows, but be prepared for potential movement from the Ferris wheel itself.
