Reviews Summary

However, some find the cruise to be overly touristy and overpriced, suggesting private boat tours as a more authentic and potentially budget-friendly alternative.
"Loboc River is well-maintained and has great views. We did not aboard the floating restaurant because it’s a tourist trap with overpriced food items."

"The last thing to do in the widely advertised Bohol tour, it’s the cruise on the Loboc River.
Once we arrived there, we actually realized that there was a massive queue and we were a bit worried to end up in an overcrowded boat where food was nothing special (we read some reviews about it).
So we asked the driver if there was an alternative way to see the river and he brought us 500metres away from there where an old local guy was willing to drive us around with his boat, for the equivalent of 25e.
We were on our own, in the sun, sitting on a traditional wooden filipino boat while cruising the river; we literally loved it.
Our captain was really nice, he showed us the entire river and in the end he stopped the boat next to a small waterfall giving us the chance to swim a bit (be a bit careful of the current).
We definitely recommend the private tour and just as advice: if you don’t do the standard cruise, bring with you some extra sandwiches/snacks because you won’t find many shops/restaurants around."
