What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the delightful strawberry picking experience and the vibrant pasalubong market, praising the fair prices and variety of local goods. While the farm's condition can be affected by weather, the overall atmosphere, friendly staff, and scenic views make it a worthwhile visit, especially during peak season. Some find the cost of picking strawberries to be high if the harvest is not abundant.
"It's just one jeepney away from Baguio City. Just ride jeeps from Magsaysay going to La Trinidad (except the ones going to Pico) and simply tell the driver to drop you off at the strawberry farm. My visit to the Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad was a memorable experience, though I arrived right after a destructive storm. Many of the strawberry farms were unfortunately damaged, though lot of the farms are in process of recovering and the ground was quite muddy, so I didn't get to see the farm in its best condition. However, I was still able to enjoy the visit because of the wonderful market area. There are a huge number of stores to choose from, offering a fantastic variety of pasalubongs. You can find everything from delicious strawberry jams and homemade peanut butters to fresh fruits, key chains, brooms, wallets, bags, souvenir shirts, and (swords?). What truly stood out was the fairness of the prices. The merchants are not trying to rip you off, the prices are consistent and reasonable across every single store. This honesty makes shopping a stress-free and pleasant experience. Despite the rough state of the farms, the honest market and great deals made my time there worth it."

The surrounding mountains provide a stunning backdrop, making it a picturesque destination for both locals and tourists. The community's dedication to preserving this agricultural heritage is evident in the well-maintained fields and the vibrant market that thrives around the farm.
However, like any agricultural area, the farm is susceptible to environmental factors. Inclement weather can sometimes lead to flooding and damage to crops, impacting the picking season and the overall condition of the fields. Despite these challenges, the resilience of the local farmers and the community's spirit shine through, ensuring that the La Trinidad Strawberry Farm remains a cherished destination.

Strawberry Picking: What to Expect
While the idea of picking your own strawberries is exciting, it's important to manage expectations regarding seasonality and cost. The prime picking season is generally from November to May. Outside of this period, the availability and quality of strawberries might be lower, and some visitors have found it 'not worth it' if the harvest is sparse. The cost for picking is typically around PHP 700 per kilogram, which can add up, so consider if this fits your budget and expectations for the amount you wish to pick.
Even if you decide not to pick strawberries, the farm offers a pleasant environment to enjoy the scenery and learn about other crops grown in the region. The overall experience is often described as delightful and enchanting, with the vibrant red of the strawberries creating a picturesque setting.
