Reviews Summary

The Campanario de Dumaguete is a cherished historical landmark, often praised for its age and significance as the oldest bell tower in the Visayas. Visitors appreciate its proximity to the cathedral and the opportunity for reflection. However, some reviews mention concerns about its condition and ongoing renovations, which can sometimes limit access.

"I was so excited to visit the place but it was closed due to renovations. I was able to get some views of the tower and the ground from the church and nearby government building."

Jeremy Bowling

"The old belfry is under construction so I only had the chance of viewing it from a distance. But it looked like something that has witnessed history-if only the walls can talk!"

Patrick Trinidad

"A Dumaguete landmark. There is a small park on the right corner of the structure, a candle lighting area on the left side, and a public toilet at the back of the structure- ( a single storey structure built directly on the coral stone structure) shocked to see how they treat their historical structure. The tower is in a sorry state. The veneered coral stones are coming off (not a couple of pieces but an entire section). Read somewhere that it is scheduled for restoration."
