What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mantayupan Falls is celebrated for its impressive height and the refreshing experience of swimming in its pool. Visitors are captivated by the main cascade, especially after crossing the suspension bridge. However, the multiple entry fees and potential for large crowds, particularly in the afternoon, are noted drawbacks.
"For me it was an amazing experience going up the wooded rope bridge and coming out onto the deck and seeing the falls for the first time was incredible. The water was refreshing on a hot day and I took the rope line all the way to the falls and went behind the falls and out under them. It was a spiritual experience that I will never forget."

"20 pesos parking, 50 pesos entry, 10 pesos environmental. It's not a lot of money but just combine it all, why do I need to pay at 3 different points to get in?
As for the falls, come early or don't come. I came after lunch (didn't have a choice to come early unfortunately) and I think there might have been about 150-180 people here.

I think it's the tallest waterfall in Cebu from memory, it's quite nice to look at but less adventurous than the multi-tiered falls elsewhere that are more fun, with more jumps and tiers.
There are two main levels here, the first one is quieter, the main one is the one after the suspension bridge and it is huge! Cool to see, but again, if you're not early it's no good.

"This is one of the more easily accessible and impressive waterfalls I have ever visited. When the guide said "2 minutes hike" I thought he was joking, like there was supposed to be a 7-11 in the middle of our canyoneering the other day (but I digress).
Though it is a small pool, I suggest water shoes because I didn't enjoy the uncertain footing in rocky and slippery terrain under the water. If you wear glasses you might want to trade them for powered goggles because I didn't dare go too close to the falls for fear the glasses may get washed away.
Be aware there is a sturdy suspension bridge leading to the falls. It's an added feature but for those with vertigo this may be something to know about beforehand.
Bring water and light snacks because it seemed like we had a long drive (30 minutes) to get to a good local restaurant from this location."
