Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the museum for its excellent overview of pre-Inca history, especially northern Peruvian cultures, and its affordable entry fee. The beautiful colonial building is also a highlight. However, the lack of English translations is a significant drawback for non-Spanish speakers, making a guide highly recommended.

"It was a nice small museum with a very good overview to Peru pre-Inca history, especially those regarding the north. It was small but there were a lot of exhibits. However, there is absolutely not a single English word in the museum. If you do not understand Spanish, you definitely have to hire a guide. Mine comes with the city tour but she’s super professional with the museum tour as well. The building itself is in colonial style and very beautiful as well."

Celia Yang

"Awesome!! I just wish it had English translations. Then again, for the very fair entrance fee I shouldn't complain. 10 out 10!"
