"The area is located on the left bank of the Jequetepeque River. It has three lagoons: Gallinazo, Larga, and Cañoncillo. To the north are the Tecapa hills and to the east are Santonte hills. To the south and west, it is close to the Jatanca plains. It is part of the Peruvian and Yungas dry forest ecosystems. It is a private conservation area with dry carob forests up to 8 meters high amidst golden dunes.
