Reviews Summary
Visitors find the ANFASEP Memory Museum deeply moving and essential for understanding Peru's recent history. While small, its impact is profound, offering a stark look at the human cost of conflict. The museum is praised for its informative exhibits and the free audio guide, though some note the sensitive nature of the content.
"As of June 2025, the cost of admission is 5 soles. I was expecting to be there about half an hour but I was actually there for 2 hours. I spent the first hour by myself looking at the exhibits. They have a QR code on the wall that you can use to listen to descriptions in English. They also have written translations on most exhibits. The person in charge gave us approximately 45 minutes of explanation by voice in Spanish. Try to read about what happened during this period in Peru's history and you will enjoy the museum more."

"Latin America has suffered greatly with all major civil conflicts. It is a great place to know more about the real history of MRTA, Sendero Luminoso and the Armed forces of the Peruvian Government back in the 80s and 90s. Horrible things happened to innocent people: women, children, adults were burned in brick ovens by the Armed forces. Sendero also is responsible for a lot of killings."
Ragnar Lothbrok
"Very impressive. I remember the name lightened parh from the past, but never realized what has really happened. This place mainly tells the story of all familymembers, still searching.for their relatives."
