Reviews Summary

Manzana de la Rivera is widely praised as a free, central cultural hub offering a rich collection of museums, a library, and art spaces within beautifully restored historic buildings. Visitors appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and the opportunity to explore Paraguayan history and art. Some reviewers noted a lack of detailed information for exhibits and occasional empty gallery spaces, suggesting variability in current offerings.

"Wonderful collection of cultural, art, and city historical museums, a library, cafe, performance stage, and courtyard. Rarely have I seen such a nice collection of museums, all free to visit. The city history museum is excellent and should not be missed. Everyone there was very welcoming. As a foreign speaking visitor, I found myself wishing there was a directory at the entrance listing of all the museums available, but we are curious and not shy people so we just popped in every open door and everything was fine. So if you are visiting, you must explore and engage. For example, we nearly missed the city museum as it is sort of back inside the complex beyond a cafe behind a closed door."

GT Hodge

"I love this space in Asuncion but unfortunately the last time I went to visit the gallery spaces were empty. With already so little spaces for art in the city, it’s a shame that a place like Manzana de la Rivera doesn’t organize enough for their galleries to be used and lived in by artists. I came from very far away and was looking forward to discover new great Paraguayan artists and found empty spaces. Really sad."

"I love this place. Nice cafe and pastoral patio behind"
