"Shahi Hamam is located inside Dehli Gate and built on the concept of the Turkish Bath. Previously, it was such a mess to visit, but it was restored by Walled City aurhority in 2012.
Entrance and main hall is decorated with beautiful wall paintings of birds, floral, animals, etc. Better to visit on Sunday to avoid rush of Akbari Mandi."

The restoration of Shahi Hammam, completed between 2013 and 2015 by the Agha Khan Trust for Culture and the Walled City of Lahore Authority, has been highly praised. This extensive effort, partly funded by the government of Norway, brought the structure back to its former prominence. The project received an Award of Merit from UNESCO in 2016, recognizing its successful conservation. This meticulous restoration allows visitors to experience the grandeur and intricate details of the original structure.
Visitors today can admire the stunning frescoes that adorn the walls and main hall, depicting birds, floral patterns, and animals. These vibrant artworks, along with the architectural design, offer a tangible connection to the past. Exploring the various chambers provides insight into the bathing rituals and the sophisticated lifestyle of the Mughal era.
