Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by the unforgettable experience of seeing green sea turtles nest, with many praising the Omani hospitality during tours. However, some find the accommodation and food prices high, with mixed reviews on room quality. Concerns about tour crowding and potential impact on wildlife are also noted by a few.
"We had a fantastic stay—great value for money! The staff were kind, helpful, and provided excellent service throughout. Even though we visited during the low season for turtles, we were pleasantly surprised to be offered two complimentary trips to see them—one at 8 PM and another at 5 AM. As hotel guests, we had priority and were among the first on-site, which made the experience even more special.
We arrived with zero expectations and left absolutely amazed. The turtles were beautiful and seeing them so up close was unforgettable. The 8 PM tour was more crowded, but the team still managed to organize small groups. The 5 AM tour felt much more private—just us and the other hotel guests, which was a big plus.
The food at the hotel is a bit overpriced, but there’s a great local spot nearby if you’re looking for something cheaper. The location is perfect for a one-night stay—right near the beach and super close to the turtle site.
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a special wildlife experience!"

"The hotel/restaurant and turtles reserve is just a tourist trap:
1. Prices too high for the accommodation (even in the tent lodge, the shelves were broken and we did a swimming pool in the bath while taking shower);
2. International food, not Omani, and we never ate that quality at such a price in Oman (and it was already my second trip there…)
3. Turtles… we waited, without any information, for almost 2 hours. We were guaranteed it would have been a 15 persons guided tour but it was not. It appears that the whole bus (around 30 persons) would have gone with one sole guide. Then other groups began to arrive. The poor turtle they identified a bit more far would have had to support at least a 100 tourists that night… We came back directly to the hotel without seeing the turtle. That’s not a way to treat protected animals. Your role is to inform and protect, not to exploit them.
As a summary: I regret I booked there and would have avoided it for sure if I had known."

"If you going for the turtles make sure to go during Augusts to November. March to July you won’t be very lucky to see the entire experience
Room smells of urine and looked very old, the Front staff were very rude
Hotel rates are very high.
The only good thing here is the Omani hospitality for turtle visit."

Use a camera with good low-light capabilities or a tripod for stable shots without flash.For low-light conditions, use a high ISO setting (but be mindful of noise), a wide aperture (low f-number), and a slower shutter speed. A tripod is crucial to avoid blurry images. Many visitors find their phone cameras sufficient for capturing the experience, provided they avoid flash.
