Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking views from Ryten and the stunning beauty of Kvalvika Beach, calling it a must-see in Lofoten. However, many note the hike's challenging steep sections and potential for muddy conditions, recommending good footwear and preparation. The popularity means crowds can be an issue, especially during peak times.
"We did 3 hikes in Lofoten and agreed that this trail to Ryten was the most difficult one for us. The views were amazing though, both during the hike and at the top. Especially view to Kvalvika beach. The hike was quite challenging maybe due to the fact that there was a strong cold wind and a very steep ascent during 2nd part, closer to the summit. 1st part was challenging in a different way - wooden trail was very narrow and everyone had to stop and wait to let other people pass in the opposite direction all the time. Then, there were medium size random rocks and a steep part. Later, there was some bigger rock climbing which I found fun. The trail has many different parts, sometimes it's muddy. I definitely recommend this trail to anyone who has at least some experience in hiking. Bring some food and water, wear good shoes and dress in layers because the weather can be felt differently in different parts of the trail."

"Great hike with views all of the way. By Lofoten standards is a pretty straightforward walk. A bit rocky in parts but generally soil paths. Lots of people but if you start before 9am it’s pretty quiet. Cafe at the trial head opens at 1pm and is great."

"This is an aboslutely beautiful hike. It is short but it is pretty steep al the way to the top of the hill, that's why I wouldn't describe it as easy but as a moderate one.
It took us a bit more than 1 hour to the top and then around 1 hour back. We were pretty fast so I guess hikers on average need up to 2 hours to come to the top.
The trail is absolutely stunning. We were blessed with a great weather and the views were amazing."
