Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Oslo Winter Park for its incredible convenience and accessibility from the city center via public transport. The slopes are well-suited for beginners, and the scenic views add to the overall experience. However, some guests encountered issues with rental equipment fit and noted that communication in English could sometimes be challenging.

"The place is easily and cheaply accessible with Oslo underground, the slopes are green, blue, red and black. As a beginner I stayed on the green and blue which weirdly I found easier then the green. Unfortunately all three days I was there, although is wasn’t busy and during week days, there were no instructors available for a lesson of 50 minutes.
I felt that my skiis were not the right ones for my height and weight (even a few skii maestros pointed it out), definitely too heavy, but when I asked at the rental store they told me those were the smallest skiis they had available. Some things that I thought were included like the helmet are not, so the price was a little higher then what I expected to pay.

There’s a nice coffee with a beautiful view where to rest and enjoy a warm cup of tea.

Overall I wish the website was less verbose so it would’ve been easier to understand for a beginner how to book in advance for a private lesson etc, there’s an app but is pretty pointless since you book the tourist pass on the day you are there.
I felt at times the communication in english with the staff was not fluent, I also wished the receipt was printed in english as well not only in Norwegian, which I don’t believe is a crazy entitled demand since there’s many tourists visiting."

"Always the best place to go in the ski season! By car, bus or route 1 line."

"This is very conveniently located in Oslo! However, they gave me boots that were way too big!! They gave me 25,5 but im 160cm. Oh well, I finally sorted it out to the right size. I would say their green slope is more of a blue, as it was initially a bit too steep for my wife who has never skied before. It was also a bit icy :/
But! The staff was really nice and when somebody accidentally took my rental skis, they re-assured me that they would get returned and to not worry. So far I haven’t received a 2000NOK fine, so I guess they were returned!
Food was average, but at least not too expensive. They have a nice fireplace in the main lodge.
I would come here to ski here again if I am in Oslo in the winter again."

While some visitors noted that these green runs felt a bit steeper than expected, they are still manageable for novices. The blue runs are also a highlight, offering a more engaging experience for those who have gained some confidence. For those looking to improve their technique, ski lessons are available. However, it's wise to book lessons in advance, as instructors can sometimes be fully booked, especially during peak times or weekdays. The resort's website can be a bit detailed, so reaching out directly to the ski school might be more efficient for lesson inquiries. Reddit

One of the most significant advantages of Oslo Winter Park is its unbeatable location within the city limits. Accessible via the Oslo Metro (T-bane) Line 1, it offers a quick and scenic escape from urban life. The journey itself is part of the experience, with lovely views unfolding as the train winds its way towards the mountains. This ease of access makes it a perfect destination for a spontaneous day trip or a regular winter activity for Oslo residents and visitors alike. Reddit

The T-bane Line 1 is a reliable and cost-effective way to reach the park. The station is conveniently located, and from there, it's a short walk to the resort facilities. This eliminates the hassle of driving, parking, and navigating unfamiliar roads in winter conditions, making it a stress-free option for most travelers. Reddit

Rental Gear and On-Site Amenities

Skimore Oslo provides an on-site rental shop for skis, snowboards, and accessories. This is a crucial amenity for visitors who don't own their equipment or prefer to travel light. However, as noted by some guests, it's important to be thorough when selecting your gear. Issues with boot sizing have been mentioned, with some visitors receiving ill-fitting boots that made skiing more challenging. It's advisable to take your time and ensure a proper fit, or seek assistance from the rental staff. Reddit

Beyond rentals, the resort offers a comfortable lodge with a fireplace, providing a warm and inviting space to relax and warm up. There's also a coffee shop that boasts a beautiful view, perfect for enjoying a hot beverage while taking in the winter scenery. Food options are available, generally described as average but reasonably priced, making it convenient for a quick bite between runs. Reddit
