One of the places that fills my soul and brings me so much dang joy. I love hikes that kick your butt but rewards you with something out of a dream. This is hands down one of the most picturesque views in all of Washington. And it was a bucket list place for over five years before crossing it off this past fall. Located in the Nordfjord region, this is one of the most insane Gatorade bodies of water I’ve ever seen. Surrounded by cascading waterfalls and towering glaciers 360 degrees. I LOVE IT HERE #norwaytiktok #norway #nordfjord #loen #stryn #lodalen #placestogo #glacierlake #norwaytravel #solotravel

Slow days at the most beautiful Trollfjordhytta in the North 💘✨ I think it’s one of the prettiest places I’ve been! The cabin is located at 400 masl in Trollfjorden. We booked it via DNT (The Norwegian Trekking Association). Note that you need a boat ride into to the fjord to start the hike. The hike is about 1.5 hours :)

While the hike itself can be very wet and muddy, it's considered a quick and fun experience that rewards with stunning scenery, even on cloudy days. Some note the need for better trail maintenance and signage to manage the impact of tourism.

"The hike is very wet and muddy. But so is basically every hike in the Lofotens. Assuming you are geared right, this is a very quick but fun hike."

Andrew Barch

"Nice view even on a cloudy and rainy day."

Niran Luckcanakul

"Nice spot but the community could use a bit of the money tourists pay to visit the village to do a proprer trail up to the lighthouse with signs and all. Many people were lost as there as so many small tracks all over... The environment starts to feel the pression of tourism as everyone walk all around looking for the right path to the lighthouse."

Navigating Lofoten's Trails

Hiking in the Lofoten Islands, including the Nusfjord Viewpoint Trail, often means dealing with unpredictable weather and terrain. Many trails are not professionally maintained, leading to muddy, rocky, and sometimes slippery conditions. This is particularly true for the Nusfjord trail, which can become quite wet and boggy. Reddit

Social media often showcases the stunning results, but it's crucial to be prepared. Waterproof hiking boots are non-negotiable, and bringing extra socks is a wise precaution. Layers of clothing are also recommended, as the weather can change rapidly. While the Nusfjord trail is relatively short, its condition means it requires a certain level of preparedness to be enjoyable. TikTokReddit

Community advice highlights the importance of sticking to established paths. The proliferation of unofficial tracks can lead to hikers getting lost and can also cause environmental damage. Always consult local maps or trail apps if available, and be aware of your surroundings to ensure a safe and responsible hiking experience. Reddit
