"Beach and recreational area in historical surroundings from the Viking period in Hafrsfjord. The area is located close to Madlaveien south of Madlaleiren. A small river from Store Stokkavatn flows through the beach area. The monument "Sverd i fjell" (Swords in Rock) made by Fritz Røed, is a monument to commemorate the battle of Hafrsfjord that unified Norway into one kingdom in 872. It is located near the beach. Limited parking."

"A truly beautiful bay with a pleasant entry into the water/sea, beginning with a short pebbled section, and then pleasantly sandy in the water itself. A green area for relaxing with plenty of shady spots, tables with benches, two barbecue stations, and a public restroom two minutes away. According to the opening hours, there's a small café on site. The panoramic view, including the Sverd i Fjell monument, is unparalleled. We really liked the place, but I think it can get quite busy on warm, sunny days. Parking is available!"

"Fantastic little bay/beach on the border between Sola and Stavanger. We have the famous Sverd i Fjell and a lovely little swimming area. Today it was close to 30 degrees so this topped the day, the sea was cooling and a good temperature. In the kiosk we got lovely milkshakes and good coffee"
