What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Lofoten Telecommunications Museum for its passionate curator and unique historical exhibits. The personal stories shared by the guide bring the evolution of telecommunications to life. While some found the organization of exhibits could be improved, the overall experience is highly valued for its authenticity and local charm.
"You should definitely give it a go. The old man who showed us the museum definitely seemed passionate about what he is explaining and turned out his whole family was in it , grandfather, father and mother! Really friendly too. Awesome for people to see the evolution of telecommunications! ☎️"
Namrata Karki
"Splendid tour! Lots of very interesting local and historic information. The guide was very nice, helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit!"
Morten Albring
"For me, visiting this unassuming place was a very pleasant surprise. The museum's wonderful curator brilliantly recounted the history of the facility and its centuries-old communications network. This station was established, along with several others in Lofoten, around 1860, and radiotelegraphy was introduced there in 1906. There are exhibits here that young people have never seen, and they don't even realize the technological advances that have occurred in recent years. Even if you're not as passionate about communications as I am, it's worth a stop."
