What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Litlefjellet for its incredibly rewarding, short hike that leads to breathtaking panoramic views of Trollveggen and the Romsdal Fjord. Many highlight the opportunity for overnight camping as a magical experience. Some caution that the trail is steep and rocky, requiring careful footing and potentially the use of hands for scrambling.
"The trail can be technical for some people, the terrain is very rocky and the rocks aren’t very stable, so you have to be careful where you step, also, there’s climbing parts, it took us 15 min to reach the top, with big backpacks and equipment to spend the night there.
Once you’re on the top, there’s plenty of space that you can go and explore, the mountain is very large, we were looking for a good spot for setting our camp and we found the most amazing spot, quite flat and almost not rocky, with breath taking views of åndalsnes, Trollveggen and Romsdalshornet, it was incredible and I think we were so lucky, very quiet, I don’t think much people chooses this mountain to spend the night.
I recommend this trail if you want a short hike but with breath taking views, for getting there you have to pay a toll, there’s a toll station at the beginning of the Romsdaleggen trail and you have to pay manually there or on your phone."

"We started off on a bright summer morning, so the weather was perfect. The trail was clearly marked, just look out for rocks with red paint.
The steeper trails typically has chains to help fellow hikers, but still do becareful of the slippery slopes that still has ice on it.
Coming from someone who isn’t as fit, I would say the hike was moderate (definitely wasn’t easy!), but it was a short one (30mins one way). The view of the Troll Wall and Romsdalhorn was really worth the hike!"
Suria Melanie
"The trolls remained hidden in the fog, but the trail is nice and not really scary or very dangerous. It's a quick steep up and they were nice to put chains in three areas as handholds."
