What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Macedonian Museum of Natural History for its surprisingly large collection spread across three floors, especially its beautiful fossil exhibits and captivating evolutionary art. Despite its modest exterior, the museum offers significant educational value at a very affordable price, making it a hidden gem. Some minor drawbacks include occasional warmth inside and inconsistent restroom supplies.
"Excellent, large exhibit. You would not be able to tell from the outside that it's this large and has 3 floors. Smart to put it next to a zoo. (As a side note, the Skopje zoo is a lot less interesting than this museum.) I highly recommend."

"Not the biggest museum but bigger then expected from the outside. They have a really beautiful fossil collection. The painting at the entrance that's showing the evolution on the planet is one of the most beautiful image of evolution I've ever seen! The paintings/pictures with the fossils are also really nice. I did almost every nature history museum in Europe and this one is a small hidden pearl."

"Very interesting and well-preserved exhibits of flora and fauna on two floors. The entrance fee was only 60 denars for an adult. I would have been willing to pay more than that while enjoying some air-conditioning, but there were very few other visitors; I don't imagine the museum can afford to raise the price much. It was a bit hot, and some of the displays were not adequately lit.
This place is right next to the zoo and near City Park."
