"Alive. Loud. Unforgettable.
Like walking through a living feed—every step a new story, every corner a burst of color.
This place is something else—alive, vibrant, and buzzing with people.
Vendors crowd the streets, each with their own story and wares, like scrolling through social media in real life—an exhilarating flood of colors, sounds, and smells.
Here, everything has a price, but every price is open to negotiation.
If you love people, conversation, and cultural exchange, this is where you’ll want to be."

"Best place to find fabrics in Lagos. So many fabrics. We decorated our house in Ankara (drapery, toss cushions, seat cushions, bedding).
I like to go early just as the shops are opening as it’s not so crowded yet. I love the little back alley aisles of tiny shop after tiny shop full of the most amazing patterns of Ankara.
A local lady asked to carry our fabrics for us and she was the sweetest. We gave her a big tip when we left.
My husband did all the bartering as that’s his thing. He loves the arguing back and forth with the shopkeepers. It’s such a game. You know the total is figured out when the arguing stops and the handshakes come out and the pats on the back to each other for a good joust. 😆
We tend to get everything we need before it gets insanely busy and duck out of there in time to go for lunch.
Just be aware of your belongings. I never bring a purse to the market as I can use my phone to pay at the shops. And I wouldn’t go alone as a woman, not that I have ever felt threatened, it’s just that I stick out too much. Plus, you need a good barterer on your side. 😊"

"A very busy market located in the heart of Marina Lagos Island, the market is huge and well known as it serves fashion within Nigeria and in West Africa, from shoes 👞 to clippers, handbags 🎒 dresses 👗 , suits, party wears, official wears , watches , sneakers 👟 👌, you name it ,they have it in different sizes and quality, wholesale and retail. But they need to structure the market to help control the crowd, u offern see people and heavy trucks struggling to pass through, waste disposal and toilets"
