"“Wenderholm Wonders: Ducks, Sheep, and Stunning Views”
Beautiful spot alert! Wenderholm Regional Park has it all — a peaceful lake, ocean views, and mountains that basically scream “take a selfie here.” There are plenty of tables and chairs scattered around, perfect if you bring your own snacks (or that questionable leftover sushi).
Toilets? Clean and plenty — always a win. There’s a paid campsite too, but I didn’t check the price because I was busy chilling. Parking? Loads of free spots, so no stress about hunting for a spot.
Ducks are basically the local celebrities here — tons of them waddling around like they own the place. And don’t be surprised if you get greeted by some fluffy sheep right at the entrance, because why not?
I stopped by for a quick visit when I was in Orewa, just 10 minutes away. Less crowded, plenty of fresh air, and good vibes all around. Definitely a chill spot worth the detour!
“Logan was here… fed some ducks, waved at sheep, and stayed chill.”"

"Great spot for picnics or just a general chill-out session. Celebrated my wife's 60th and it was great.
Protected from the wind from the east of you set up on the lagoon side and westerlies if you set up on the sea side. Northerlies and southern winds are blocked by bluffs on each end. Facilities are first class. Clean and well maintained.
Recommended for views and general experience."

"Very big park with lots of free parking, great outdoor space for tents and barbecues. The beach itself is clean and great for a family day. Public toilets and shower are available but the day we went there is limited water also main toilet is close but the park provides portable loos. Highly recommended for a great day of family gathering."
