What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty of Victory Beach and The Pyramids, highlighting the chance to see sea lions and the scenic drive along the Otago Peninsula. The unique seaweed balls and colorful shells add to the beach's charm. Some note the access road can be challenging and the walk to the beach steep and potentially boggy.
"Beautiful spot! We were there in June and were the only people on the beach. Easy walk from the carpark. Access road is dirt/gravel and at some places not fully two lanes. Be careful. We didn't see any wildlife on the beach but saw some paua shells, really colorful. Plan for a half day because the journey there is just as spectacular. The Otago peninsula is really a neat place to drive and explore, particularly the dirt roads."

"Beach is a long way from the Pyramids, and we walked through the bush on narrow and sometimes boggy paths to reach it. The way down to the beach was steep with fine flowing sand. The interesting part of this beach is that it has many balls around the size of tennis balls strewn everywhere. They turned out to be seaweed balls. There were also large seashells and salps sprinkled everywhere. We spotted two teenage sea lions lounging on the beach and they were chill as long as we kept our distance."

"Beautiful spot. Especially on a cold and calm morning. Lots of wildlife and history. View from the top of the pyramid is a must. Takes ten plus minutes to walk from the car park to the base of the pyramids. Takes another 10 to 15 to get to the beach which you can walk along for miles. Some fantastic preservation work has gone into restoring the fauna. Highly recommend."
