"This is a charming little park with a lake and a miniature railway (not running the day I visited) there is also a children's play park and a cricket green with a grandstand. Amongst other items of interest are a "Tuna Circle" (Tuna in Te reo Maori is an eel not a fish) and a rather crude statue entitled "thinker". There is also the preserved stump of an enormous tree which was around a hundred years old when struck buy lightening which forced its demise (I only photographed one half because the other had been vandalised with graffiti)."

"Beautiful winter day spent at Queen Elizabeth Park after camping nearby. Stopped here for breakfast and a roam around. Pleasantly surprised by the deer park and abundance of bird life around the lake. Good place to relax on your trip."

Am glad the swing bridge got Re strengthened (walking part) but the netting could have done with a tidy up but understand they not gonna replace it as people like to put Paddocks on it. Wondering when and if the park is going to have a refresh.
And the ice cream truck was out which was nice since it was a nice sunny day"
