The best part of Invercargill is the extremely detailed information map just as you enter the city that's directing you straight to McDonald's, and the fact that the map is right outside a very prominent cemetery

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the helpfulness and friendliness of Invercargill's local council staff and community members, often highlighting exceptional service that goes above and beyond. While the heritage precinct itself is appreciated for its preserved architecture, some reviews mention a lack of proactive customer engagement from certain staff members.
"The telephone receptionist is always very helpful and transferred me to the correct department."
Peter Otto Hoffmann
"Possibly one of the nicest councils to deal with. I rang up requesting information pertaining to a house I was buying. Also wanted info to try and complete my family tree. I spoke with 2 different staff members who couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks to them I am now on my way to finishing a very long drawn out ancestry project. These ladies went right out of their way to track down certain files and got them all to me in record time. Very much appreciated.
17.11.2020 Just like to say a HUGE Thank You to the lovely woman who travelled all the way from Bluff to get my naughty Teddy Bear from the pound for me. Think she was contracted to the pound for the weekends but couldn't have been nicer and went above and beyond the call of duty. Great people to deal with and very very happy to have my wee doggy back safe and sound xox"
Julia Milley
"No Covid 19 sign in or QR code and both the ladies I spoke to one at the Help desk and one at a counter to pay seemed to be inconvenienced by my wanting them to do there job. Saying hello and being pleasant are usually a good thing in customer service maybe a Kiwi host course would be appropriate"
