Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate the Greymouth Floodwall for its historical significance and the pleasant riverfront walk it facilitates. It's seen as a good way to learn about the town's past and enjoy scenic views, especially for those looking for a free and accessible activity. However, some feel it could be better promoted as a heritage attraction.

"While the Flood Wall was built to protect the historical town from flood, it also served as a nice platform for river front walk. The walk starts from Greymouth Wharf near the river mouth, to the Cobden Rail Bridge Heritage Park, mostly flat and wheelchair accessible.
Along the flood wall, other than the landmark Greymouth Clock Tower, there's so much more to see and learn from this tiny historical town. Just to name a few
1. Greymouth Wharf
2. Coal River Heritage Park
3. Greymouth Railway Signal Box
4. Cobden Rail Bridge Heritage Park
5. Miners Memorial
6. Bank of New Zealand building

I wish the Tourism team could have promoted this as the Riverfront Heritage walk, so that more people can learn and appreciate these historical sites."

"Nice place to stand and look down the river. There is a viewing platform close by, where many people stop and walk out on, to look down the river to its mouth, and also up thr river to the bridge . It was a fine day. Lots of people walking, or cycling past."
