"Free museum! Accept donations at your discretion!
Awesome big open spaces and rooms fill with many different style of very interesting arts!
I didn't have enough time to explore the whole building, only managed to go through a couple rooms on the ground floor.
I really love the Fountain in Transit piece on the ground floor under the big stairs. I also spent quite a bit of time watching many video stories in the Disruptive Landscape section of the gallery.
The gift shop was full of beautiful items you can take home as a souvenir 😍
Also the art imitation of a big whale 🐋 like at the History of Natural Museum at the entrance is really cool!"

"Gallery spaces filled with works by New Zealand artists, many depicting NZ scenes. New exhibition (June 2025) with several beautiful pieces by Fred Graham, artist and educator (who died last month). He is regarded as a pioneer in the contemporary Māori art movement.
There are some lounge areas, including one with a selection of videos to watch. The gift shop sells books, gifts, whimsical items, greenstone jewellery and has a large section with children’s books and gifts."
