What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find SnowWorld Amsterdam a fun and convenient place to ski or snowboard indoors, especially for learning new skills. While the instructors are often praised for their helpfulness and the facility offers a unique experience, some find the overall cost, including rentals and additional fees, to be quite high. The ski lifts can also be a point of frustration for beginners.
"I had a trial lesson here today. It was great! Instructors were friendly and helpful. Will come back for more"

"Nice to have it near Amsterdam, but I've been there twice now and not sure if I'm coming again.
It gets quite expensive with equipment rental - we paid around 260€ for "Avond skipas" with clothes and equipment for 2 adults and 2 kids. Out of 4 hours we used maybe 2 (was more than enough for this hill), and one of us didn't ski at all (struggled with the ski lift).
Those ski lifts (a cable that pulls you up) are super inconvenient. Eventually we got used to it, but it still wasn't easy.
Plus 2x2.5€ for the lockers, which have a quite confusing interface, so we got our stuff stuck there and had to ask the staff to open it for us (they were quite friendly btw!).
Eventually, it was a nice experience, but I don't think we're coming again to this specific place."

"Rarely experienced such bad support. We ordered a ticket for 20:00 - 22:00, which you would assume is an evening ticket. Yet, the price was €39,99.
Later, we found out we should've selected "Evening ticket", priced at €26. A friend of us paid that price and even got a timeslot from 19:30 - 22:00.
Why does the website not automatically apply this when you select an evening time range?
We figured this must have been a mistake, so I contacted support. There was no way they could refund or give a discount code, I was the one that's stupid, as "the website is clear about it". Sorry, but if you build a website that does not automatically suggest or apply an evening ticket when I select an evening time, I'm not the one that's stupid.
It feels like stealing from your customers, and I'm not even talking about the bar that was still open, but hesitant to serve us drinks because "they were busy"."

Learning to Ski or Snowboard
It's important to book lessons in advance, as they are popular. Don't be discouraged if the ski lifts feel challenging at first; patience and practice are key, and instructors are there to help.

Managing Costs and Value
It's crucial to carefully check what your ticket includes. Sometimes, selecting an 'evening ticket' might be cheaper than a standard timed pass, but the website might not automatically apply the best option, leading to overpayment if not careful. Visitors suggest clarifying ticket types and inclusions with staff or online to ensure you're getting the best value. The cost of lockers, which are an additional fee, also adds up.
Despite the costs, many find the experience worthwhile, especially for the convenience of having an indoor ski facility near Amsterdam. The quality of the snow and the availability of lessons contribute to the overall value for those seeking a winter sports fix without traveling far.
