"This classic steam train Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij runs on a regular base on a train-line called ‘Miljoenenlijntje’. It’s run by a group of train-loving volunteers. The whole atmosphere is authentic and oldskool: e.g. the trains itself, seats, ticket control, departure procedure, signaling and track switch. Don’t miss the moment when the locomotive is going to be turned around at the train’s last station - depending on which route you take - either at ‘Schin op Geul’ or ‘Kerkrade’. The ride through the hilly and diverse landscape is really an experience. Buy a dayticket online, it saves you money and allows you unlimited rides that day!"

"A great day out on this preserved railway. We spent 5-6 hrs on the railway and enjoyed steam on the main line and a rail car on the smaller branch line.
The steam locomotive and the associated coaches were immaculate and the ride through the countryside was very pleasant. The rail cars were very different to anything we've seen before and the conductor pointed out interesting facts along the line.
At the main station of Simpelveld we visited the cafe for lunch. The choice was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our baguettes were delicious.
The workshops for the line were also at Simpelveld and could be seen by a short walk from the station.
