"This cathedral is filled with history and some absolutely mazing stained glass, statues, and paintings. The baptismal font is spectacular. The altars are as good as or better than any you’ll find in France or Belgium. This is definitely a hidden gem in The Netherlands.
Pilgrims from Northern Europe stopped here on their way to Santiago de Compostela. They have some pilgrim items on display. You can even put your name on a rock and place it under the cross for a blessing from St. James. You’ll also find a nice gift shop with a few pilgrim items.
The entry is free and I did not see restrooms or food and drink items for sale. However you can find lots of restaurants just outside the church. The visitors center for the city of Roermond is just around the corner.
Easily take the train to the Roermond station and walk to the Cathedral. The town is very walkable. You’ll find many other points of interest along your way. The remaining part of the ancient city wall is just next to the Cathedral."
