"Rijnsburg once had an abbey monastery. A tower of that abbey and a later rebuilt church still stand. Remains of the abbey are still clearly visible. Several of the most prominent Counts of Holland and Zeeland are buried in this abbey. These include Countess Petronilla of Saxony, Count Floris the Black, Count Dirk VI, Count William I, Count Floris IV, founder of the Hague Court, the Knight's Hall, Count Floris V, nicknamed "der keerlen god" (the god of the kings), and Count John I. These Counts are the administrative predecessors of the House of Orange. Fundamentalist supporters of this House of Orange, perhaps due to the actions of the same House of Orange, destroyed the Counts of Holland in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Interesting sight"
