What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ede-Wageningen Station is a functional transport hub with timely trains and useful charging points. However, recent renovations have introduced accessibility challenges, particularly from the south side, and some find the modern design too grey and exposed to the elements. Issues like locked toilets and relocated bike parking also detract from the user experience.
"The trains always take me on time and that’s its main purpose ofcourse but just because that is good doesn’t mean it cannot have general improvements.
1. Wheelchair friendlyness
Currently the station isn’t that wheelchair friendly/accessable as other stations.
2. Access
Speaking of access currently the access for K&R Is blocked off at the front and even as someone who goes to the area a lot it was confusing. They need to make more spots to enter to make it more accessible.
3. Check in.
Currently there are poles with check-in’s on them. This needs to change to ports for safety and security reasons. For 1 it’s easier to go on the train illegally. And for 2 it’s easier to forget when there is a event. Ex: protest, elections.
4. Colour.
This is just a personal pet peeve of mine but ITS SO GREY I just get a spontaneous depression from it. The old station used to be so colourful and now it’s so grey it’s depressive.
With all that let’s end on a positive note
1. There are charging points.
2. It does its job well.
I hope this station continues to improve and that I could give a better review. But for now 2 stars it’s the maximum I can give it."

"Currently inaccessible from the south side for wheelchairs, prams and bikes.
You cannot enter from the south side unless you go to the main entrance.
Free bike parking is 1km bike ride from the previous location. Take this into account if you're used to biking from the station.
Update: the lifts and escalators are often not functioning. Be aware there are no tracks on the stairs for bikes."

"The station is now bigger after the renovations, but the design is not very practical, nor user-friendly. There's always a lot of wind, and when it rains, you often get wet when getting off the train and even when walking in the "covered" tunnel. It would also be more practical to have more check-in machines on the platforms next to the trains."
