What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Park Merwestein is widely praised as a beautiful, clean, and animal-friendly oasis of peace in Dordrecht. Visitors love the opportunity to see and feed the deer, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, and appreciate the park's natural beauty, especially during autumn. The main drawback is the strict sunset closing time, which limits evening visits.
"This park serves as a pleasant respite between the 19th-century expansion belt and downtown Dordrecht. One of its appealing features is its water-surrounded setting. There are also cozy spots to sit and nooks that offer a feeling of being in the countryside. It’s a beautiful and inviting place to spend time with friends, family, or anyone seeking a relaxing atmosphere.
However, do note that the park closes at sunset. This decision is made due to the presence of animals in the petting zoo, my guess is. While it’s understandable that certain areas should remain undisturbed, I wish that the park could be open after sunset rather than being closed at sunset on the dot. Despite this, I still enjoy the park and appreciate its beauty. The history of this park is also pretty interesting and the trees have their own informational database!"
