What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Pannenkoekenboot a fun and unique experience, especially for families and pancake enthusiasts. The all-you-can-eat concept and scenic cruise are highlights, though the coffee quality and drink prices receive some criticism. The Dutch-style pancakes are noted as being more crepe-like.
"Visited on a weekend morning. The boat was not too busy, and the staff were welcoming. Pancakes are decent and taste home-y. One thing to keep in mind is that they are more crepe-like pancakes, so don’t expect fluffy “American” pancakes. You will get to try three types: bacon, apple, and basic. There’s just enough toppings (with the right mix of sweet & savory) to satisfy you.
Only downside would be that the coffee is quite watery and on the burnt side. If you’re a coffee-lover and bad coffee makes you sad, I would suggest getting an iced tea or juice to save the disappointment. The seating arrangement that you are given might also might not be the best, so if you’re going in a party of two, I’d suggest sending an email to request seating on the side of the boat by the windows.
So to conclude: worth a visit! If it’s your first time in Amsterdam, it’ll be a fun experience. If the coffee had been better, the experience would have been 200% better."

"This was a very cute experience. There was a wide variety of topping in both savoury and sweet available. The pancakes are more like "crepes" rather than poffridges. I have had way better pancakes but in all fairness, I have never had better pancakes on a boat. And that is where the charm lies. So, if you're looking for something fun, family friendly, and a little different I think this is perfectly acceptable and I can wholeheartedly recommend."

"Fun experience, easy to get to from Amsterdam on the ferry which is free. The drinks are a bit expensive but for the fact you're getting all you can eat it is fair enough. There are toilets upstairs as well as outdoor areas. There is a cute ball pit for children which is good for those with kids. One thing which was a shame when we were there was the nutella ran out which seemed to bum multiple people and it wasn't changed during the duration of the boat tour."
