"I had the immense privilege of paying a visit, to this most wonderful institution, for the very first time, on the morning of Thursday, the 21st of December, 2023.

I was the first to arrive, a quarter of an hour before the opening hours, and lo and behold, I run into a kind gentleman, who offers me entrance before 10 o’clock, only for me to realize, it’s the Chairman/General Director of this most delightful edifice, himself. He and I, along with another gentleman friend of his, end up conversing for the next three hours without end, which felt like a mere few minutes. Oh how time flies away, when one encounters kindred spirits.

I’ve taken the liberty of watching the documentary about the place, later that very evening as well. Only to realize, how such a magnificent establishment, must’ve always been meant to end up being part of UNESCO’s “Memory of the World.”

The museum houses an immense collection of a variety of subjects. All, an accumulation of years of research, and very hard work. It is through the fruits of labor, of great men, like Mr. Joost Ritman, that people are able to feast their eyes and minds, on the likes of havens like the Embassy of the Free Mind. We all owe him and his wonderful family, a debt of gratitude, similar to those owed to the Medicis or the Rockefellers.

It was truly a whimsical day like no other, in the company of two delightful learned gentleman, as I felt I was part of a Wes Anderson film of the highest order, amongst the corners of this most noble and ancient of houses.

A must-visit and see. Highly-recommended."
