Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the KattenKabinet Amsterdam for its unique concept, charming resident cats, and beautiful canal house setting. It's a delightful and quirky experience, especially for cat lovers. Some note it's a smaller museum, best enjoyed at a relaxed pace.

"The experience was very pleasant; however, the displays are somewhat limited in information, I was curious about the owner who started the collection of pictures for his cat yet felt somewhat unsure by the end of his life.

The mummified cat was an interesting historical find!

The staff are incredibly friendly and the shop is well stocked, you just will struggle to spend too long in the museum itself."

Daniel Barry

"Amazing place to visit for anyone that loves cats! Although the museum itself is not so big, it’s full of various paintings, sculptures, and other art pieces all about cats. The museum also has an adorable backyard where you can take a look at some more artwork and meet some of the local cats! The gift shop is also worth a visit. The staff were extremely friendly as well, definitely recommend!!!"

Emilija Sakalauskaite

"It is very cute but rather small and not everything is translated into English. But the house itself is stunning and adds to the gallery itself. I would appreciate more historical input as the museum is only on one floor of the building and is walked through within 45 mins max. So great for a quick stop but don't plan too much time.
But all things considered this place is great
But keep in mind that there are cats walking around and to respect their space and not to annoy them
And not to go to this restaurant if you are allergic"
