Reviews Summary

Pansodan Street is lauded for its stunning, well-preserved colonial architecture and the evocative atmosphere of stepping back in time. Visitors appreciate the photographic opportunities and the chance to witness vibrant street life against a historic backdrop. While the street itself is a free attraction, some experiences like afternoon tea at The Strand Hotel have received mixed reviews regarding value.

"The Strand is where Yangon’s colonial past quietly lingers in polished teak floors and hushed hallways. It isn’t flashy, but it doesn’t need to be — it’s all about calm, discreet elegance.

My stay was made memorable by people like Thae Thae at reception, whose warm welcome set the tone, and Yadanar, my butler, whose quiet attentiveness made everything effortless.

Rooms are spacious and timeless, with high ceilings and old-world details balanced by modern comforts. Breakfast in the café is unhurried and refined, while the Strand Bar is perfect for an evening drink as the city’s humid dusk settles in.

In a city changing fast, The Strand remains reassuringly steady — a small, enduring corner of grace and history."

"Beautiful, gorgeous, delicious, clean, classy... these words can describe this awesome hotel

This hotel was real highlight of our travels. The history of this place blown our minds and we felt like to travel back in time in beautiful hotel.

The food was just so delicious we enjoyed every meal we had there with no regrets.

The pool side and spa area are awesome. The salty pool just puts crown on top :)

Original pieces of minimum age of 70 years gave us goose skin..

Have to thank to Grace, Mark and all of staff in hotel... They were absolutely great support during out stay on this hotel and without them it wouldn't be complete.

Thank you for having us :)"
