Reviews Summary

Ourika Valley is praised for its stunning natural beauty, refreshing waterfalls, and the opportunity for relaxing riverside dining and hiking. However, some visitors report negative experiences with locals, including pushy sales tactics and inflated prices, which can detract from the overall enjoyment. Reddit

"Ourika Valley offers stunning natural scenery, with flowing waters and breathtaking landscapes that make it a beautiful escape. However, the experience is spoiled by the negative attitude of many locals. Prices are raised unreasonably, the food lacks quality, and service from waiters is neither polite nor professional. Moreover, Moroccan visitors are often treated with less respect compared to foreign tourists. While the view is worth seeing, I would recommend visiting Oulmès instead, where the atmosphere is friendlier and more authentic."

"Beautiful place to relax and for great hiking

Locals PLEASE NOTE: please do not throw yourself in front of the vehicles of tourists and try to force them to park in your establishment. If we want to enquire we will ask politely for your kind assistance

Also, tourists have driven vehicles before. We know how to reverse and park a car. Most modern cars have sensors and cameras to assist in parking. We can't park if you stand directly in the way

Local tour guides PLEASE NOTE: if you want to agree a price up front, then agree it and stick with it. If you want more, then agree on that price before hand. Please honour your word

Parking is usually available in private car parks for 10 diram and a short walk through one of the many restaurants before using the steps to make your way to the waterfalls

There are monkeys between the town and the waterfalls, who move around a fair bit and will make calling sounds when nearby

The main waterfall is very clean and refreshing. It's possible to walk in it as there are plenty of smooth rocks for footing. There is also a cafe right next to it, where drinks are about 25 diram each. It's mostly shaded here"

"Great valley, cascades, walk can get busy, parking not too easy. Nice village, gets busy with day tours.
Tip to walk up the main route, on way down continue directly up above cascade, visit cafe/bar then continue up and walk along ridge. Great views, goats in trees and less tourists.
Must be careful for guides who will try to help but try to sting you for a fortune $€£, tip to either walk away (literally turn around and walk off) or arrange price before continuing."
