Reviews Summary

Bab Bou Jeloud is widely praised as the iconic and beautiful entrance to the Fes Medina. Visitors appreciate its stunning architecture and the vibrant atmosphere of the surrounding area. However, some caution is advised regarding aggressive touts and the potential for food poisoning from street vendors.

"Most famous gate entrance to Fez Medina. Google maps worked great for getting around and finding places, as long as you have good connectivity, so check your data plan or get a local one."

V Silver

"Iconic gate at the entrance of the historical old city of Fez. Beyond this gate is the world's largest pedestrian city (according to locals' claims)"

Amine Idrissi (IG: Where is Amine?)

"It's is as gorgeous as everyone says. Very busy area, many people trying to relieve you of any spare dirhams, and buzzy little coffee shops thru the gate. There are other gates too.. it's a big medina, so don't stop there. And be careful what you eat.. we had street food and got terrible food poisoning that laid us up for a week. We usually eat off the street and have no issues. It just must have been bad luck, but it ruined my new year. Luckily we're staying a few weeks so didn't have to travel. That would have been impossible."
