Reviews Summary
La Sqala Bastion is highly praised for its enchanting Moroccan ambiance, lush garden setting, and captivating live music, making it a standout dining experience. Guests rave about the authentic and flavorful cuisine, generous portions, and attentive service, with many recommending it as a must-visit in Casablanca. While some find the breakfast average, the overall atmosphere and culinary offerings are consistently lauded.
"La Sqala is a must-visit dining spot in Casablanca, offering a well-rounded introduction to Moroccan cuisine in a beautifully atmospheric setting. With dedicated breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, the restaurant caters to a wide range of tastes while showcasing local ingredients and flavours.
I visited for lunch and started with the Moroccan Salad, a fresh and vibrant dish where the quality of the vegetables really stood out. It worked well both as a standalone entrée and as a complement to the main course.
For mains, we ordered the T-bone steak and a kofta platter. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium-well), served with a crisp salad and creamy potato gratin. The kofta was equally flavourful, paired with perfectly seasoned chips.
To finish, we shared the hazelnut noisette, a rich and indulgent dessert reminiscent of a Ferrero Rocher cake. The portion size was generous — easily enough for three people.
For the table, we were also served olives, warm bread, and a trio of dips (houmous, tomato, and chilli). These were fresh and full of flavour, making for a great start to the meal.
Overall, La Sqala offers excellent food in a charming setting, with attentive service and a menu that reflects both traditional and contemporary Moroccan tastes. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Casablanca."

"I went there for breakfast on a Saturday. The food itself was okay , nothing too special , but the overall vibe was amazing. The place feels a bit like a riad, surrounded by lots of greenery, which makes it really charming. They even had live music, adding to the atmosphere. The service was excellent, attentive, and friendly. While the breakfast was quite average, the experience as a whole was lovely. If you’re looking for a nice spot to enjoy the ambiance, it’s definitely worth visiting at least once."

"Great experience. From the music to the food and service - everything was fantastic. Staff spoke good English and helped with gluten free requirements. The beef shank tangine was so delicious and the frozen nougat was amazing. Nice atmosphere having live music and sitting out in the garden was lovely. Service was amazing without being over the top. Definitely recommend eating here. The afternoon tea looks fantastic too."
