Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Cenote Taak Bi Ha's breathtaking beauty, describing it as an otherworldly, serene, and magical underground experience with crystal-clear waters and stunning rock formations. While the steep stairs and potential for a long walk from public transport are noted, the overall value and natural charm make it a highly recommended destination.

"Positives: Crystal clear water. You can see small fish swimming next to you. Bathrooms were clean. Showers weren’t very strong. You will see a lot of iguanas on your way there. Life jackets are included in entry. Water is a bit cold. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend to bring googles and water shoes as you will see a lot of small fish, caves, but rocks are sharp.

Cons (maybe): they don’t provide transportation from highway 307 to their Cenote, so if you get there through public transportation like we did, then you have to walk 40 mins. A person at park desk Dos Ojos (they provide transportation to their Cenote which is next to this one) wanted to charge us 100mxn per person. If you get there through a rental or taxi that takes you all the way in, you are good.

Price 💴: 350 mxn per person. Life jackets included."

"I followed google reviews saying that this was the most beautiful cenote and indeed, it is so gorgeous. We quickly went after visting dos ojos, so I did not swim, but it is beautiful to just look at and there are plenty of little pathways that allow you to explore the cave on foot. It was also really quiet (not too busy) so we got plenty of good photos."

Lauren De Meyer

"One of the best cenotes I’ve been to! Quiet and otherworldly, no silly restaurants or sculptures outside trying to make it something other than what it is. Be warned you have to drive on a bumpy dirt road for a while to get to it though!"

The Geological Marvel of Taak Bi Ha

Cenote Taak Bi Ha, meaning 'hidden water' in Mayan, is a spectacular example of a cenote de cueva (cave cenote). Its underground chambers are adorned with thousands of years of geological artistry in the form of stalactites and stalagmites. These formations are created by the slow drip of mineral-rich water over millennia, forming intricate and often breathtaking shapes. The crystal-clear water is a result of the cenote's isolation from surface runoff, filtered through the porous limestone bedrock. This purity allows for incredible visibility, making it a prime spot for both swimming and photography. TikTokInstagram

The experience of descending into the cavern is often described as entering another world. The cool, still air within the cave contrasts with the tropical heat outside, and the silence is broken only by the gentle sounds of water and the occasional echo. The interplay of natural light filtering through openings in the cave ceiling creates mesmerizing light beams, adding to the mystical atmosphere. TikTokInstagram
