"Very interedting and informative stop on my way between Mahahual and Chichen Itza. The museo de la guerra de los castes in Tihosuco.
Good illustrstion of this very long war between Post-Colonial powers and Maya rebels which finally led to a preservation of Mayan culture, language and religious practice within Christian Values and belief in God. Antonia Poot Tuz, director of the museum, gave me a passionate verbal introduction into the circumstances which led to the war in 1847 until the end in early 1900."

"A fascinating and unique museum, by very little English. I would recommend having at least one Spanish speaker in the group to translate if you visit. I found the part of the museum dedicated to Semana Santa traditions in Tihosuco to be equally fascinating."

"Absolutely worthwhile 1 h tour shot for anyone wanting to understand deeper the Yucatan peninsulas turbulent, often oppressed history between opposing ideas, ideologies and people. Well worth a visit. Entrancy price rather elevated 110 pe$o$ for foreigners, but goes for the cause.

Ps. If you want to stay overnight in the village, ask from the reception ladies, they might be able to arrange a simple camping place or a room with hammocks for you."
